About

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (CA license #PSY21758) and have been providing psychotherapy services in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 12 years. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Cal State University, Hayward, and both my masters and doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a Multicultural Competency emphasis from John F. Kennedy University.

  • In addition to academic coursework, I completed year long training programs with each of the following agencies:
  • Kaiser Permanente’s Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Services (postdoctoral fellowship)
  • University of San Francisco’s Counseling Center (postdoctoral fellowship)
  • Contra Costa County Mental Health – Child, Adolescent and Family Services (predoctoral internship)
  • Youth and Family Services, Vallejo

Training prior to the agencies listed above was received while working in an alternative high school in Richmond, a group home for children and adolescents in Concord, and a residential treatment program for homeless, drug-addicted senior citizens in San Francisco.

In addition to maintaining a private psychotherapy practice, I work as the Director of the Counseling Psychology department for Argosy University in Alameda, CA, and teach graduate courses such as Ethical & Legal Issues, Maladaptive Behavior & Psychopathology, Human Sexuality, Treating Self-Injuring Clients, a Social & Cultural Issues diversity course, and practicum seminars. I have taught in the graduate psychology programs as an adjunct faculty member at John F. Kennedy University and the California Institute for Integral Studies as well as teaching in the Continuing Education Department at John F. Kennedy University. I have presented my research at the national American Psychological Association (APA) conference and continue to provide consultation services and trainings to therapists in a variety of settings. Dates for upcoming trainings are posted on the Events page of this website once scheduled.

I will not dishonor my soul with hatred, but offer myself humbly as a guardian of nature, as a healer of misery, as a messenger of wonder, as an architect of peace.
